Narcissus I, Oil on Canvas (60 x 60), 2024. The painting features a structured composition with abstract and figurative elements. I wanted the effect of the painting to be a bit overwhelming and noisy.
This painting represents my attempt to work through difficult feelings I had at the time. I found out that manifesting heavy emotions in the form of art can be a good way to move past them. Or at least it can help me understand more thoroughly what it is that I’m dealing with.
This work is the result of a new approach to painting. In the process of working on my artistic concision I tried to restrict myself to including only elements with a symbolic meaning.
The composition is inspired by Zdzisław Beksiński’s work. In this painting I used a special chrome pigment to do the underpainting, giving the work a unique glow.
