Temperance II, Oil on Canvas (120 x 80), 2024. The painting is a collage-like composition featuring a dark landscape, two people, and an eye encircled by a moon. I wanted the effect of the painting to be striking, the scarlet eye being the eyecatcher.

This is another painting that is full of symbolism. Much of it is recurring, as can be seen in my other work.

One thing that I have always been struggling with is knowing when I have enough of something. I find myself always craving more, things that I can’t have or even things that I know will not make me happy.

This painting is entitled Temperance to remind me to be grateful for what I have. In this sense, the work is quite literally keeping an eye on me. The painting is dedicated to two of my best friends, who can be seen here, leading the way forward.
